CADET FITNESS AND WELL BEING
Junior Reserve Officer’s
Training (JROTC) addresses the physical, emotional and cognitive needs
of Cadets. This program offers a full spectrum of curriculum and
physical activities taught in the framework of a school setting. Each
JROTC Instructor is well trained and enthusiastic about assisting our
Cadets in reversing the trend of obesity and health concerns in our
children. We create a well structured, safe and inclusive learning
environment within the school system by coordinating a variety of
physical activities such as:
Cadet Challenge. 300 Cadets compete twice a
year in the following physical
events: Curl-ups,
Pull-ups, Push-ups, V-sit Reach,
One Mile Run,
50 Yard Dash and
Shuttle Run
Conduct Special Teams Training. Special Teams compete in Drill
Competitions
throughout North Carolina and all across the
United States. Training is designed to increase muscle endurance,
upper body strength and stamina.
Work with classroom teachers to reemphasize physical activities in the
school.
Students should be allowed to stretch and
walk around when they begin to feel tired during class.
Coordinate after school physical activities and academic enhancement
programs
with local community agencies.
